Volunteer: 26/27 College and Career Preparation Coach

Volunteers support students in a variety of ways including collaborating with Champions For Learning staff to assist students with college and scholarship applications and essays, test prep, etiquette, career exploration, resume building, networking, and more!

Help high school students build personal and professional skills through a lab or workshop. Champions For Learning has developed a curriculum to better prepare our students for post-high school success.

Participate in a topic-based workshop including college applications, scholarship essays, test prep, etiquette, career exploration, interview skills, resume building, public speaking, networking, goal setting, personal statements, and more


Time Commitment: Timing of each workshop depends on the topic and occurs at various times during the year based on the curriculum Workshops can be remote and in-person based on topic

Help inspire the next generation by sharing your career journey with students. As a Career Exploration Panel volunteer, you'll join a group of professionals from a variety of industries to discuss your profession, educational background, career path, and the experiences that have shaped your success.

During the panel, students will learn about different career options, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into the skills, education, and opportunities available in various fields. By sharing your personal experiences—including challenges, successes, and advice—you can help students make informed decisions about their future education and career goals.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Participate in a moderated panel discussion with other professionals. Share information about your career, daily responsibilities, and career pathway. Discuss the education, training, and skills needed for your profession. Answer student questions and provide encouragement and guidance. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to lifelong learning.

No prior speaking experience is required—just a willingness to engage with students and share your unique career journey. Your experience can broaden students' perspectives, spark new interests, and help them envision future possibilities.
