Volunteers review each Teacher of Distinction as a candidate for the Golden Apple by viewing teacher presentations and observing the practice in action in the classroom.
Time Commitment:
- Occurs October to February
- Between 55 - 65 hour commitment
- Attendance is required at committee meetings, teacher presentations, and school site visits to support the selection process
- Number of teachers observed varies by subcommittee (12-18 schools per committee)
Special Considerations:
- Committee members must not have any immediate family currently teaching in CCPS public/charter schools
